The inaugural BANGERS AND ASH 12” presents the debut release of producer and interactive media designer tomlaan. Hailing from the Netherlands, tomlaan offers six songs that touch on various styles across the electronic music stratosphere.
The Ash side opens with “Weatherday”, a storm-drenched soundscape of three-dimensional grooves that echoes into the midnight flow of the second track, “Untitled.” “Want” whispers of marbled hideouts before the resonating catacombs of “Ding” collapses into itself to close out the A side.
On to the Bangers: “Cnip,” a frenzy of sandpaper percussion and toxic synthesizers coated in swelling sub-bass, and “Prehodni,” a DMZ-inspired lesson in half-step dynamics and wilting lullabies, demonstrate tomlaan’s versatility as a producer.
Released as a limited run of 200 multi-colored 12” records, each with a unique paper marbled jacket designed by tomlaan and Since Today.
